Blue Moon Rising is an ethereal work which softly speaks to the evening shadows cast by the rising moonlight. Casting the spell of Moonlight over all that is ‘tucked up’ for the night.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The hues of blues and the mark-making are cool and crisp, but still playful. The predictability and constancy casting light over what often is un-noticing. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful soft accent when hung in the right space. It is simple but expectant and balanced. It holds many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
