Charred Landscape is an expressive abstract painting by Felicity Rutherford. Australia has many bushfire summers, and this was painted as a reaction to a particularly difficult bushfire that burned down to the shoreline. Expressive, and strong.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me, and this piece is no different.
This is a larger work that is definitely a statement piece. It will make a dynamic, and bold accent wherever it is hung. Suitable for either home or office environments.
