Chill On The Hill harks to a rural vista with incoming weather. An emotional and abstract collection of collage conveying the interrupted serenity of the scene by natural forces. Painted as one of two works. Layers and elements come together to create a beautifully simple work that embraces being exposed to the elements. These little works are able to be either hung or self-standing, and will also make fabulous little gifts.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The random mark-making offset by the collage components create a beautiful balance. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful moment when placed in your space. It is simple and brimming with expectation. Suitable for home or office.
