Coastal Encroachment

Coastal Encroachment is a reflective piece commenting on the ever growing desire to build closer and closer to - if not on - the sands. Whilst simple in structure, the cool blues and yellow sand are interrupted by the geometric intrusions and cast shadows that are becoming way more common on our shorelines.

I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.

This is a mid-size work that will bring a calming but strong accent to its space. Suitable for either home or office environments.
