Diving In The Deep End captures the fun and excitement of summer days spent in the pool. I can ‘hear’ the joy of children jumping and playing as they endeavour to keep cool in our hot climate in summer. The reflections created by the bomb dives and chasing that unavoidably become part of the game rippling across the surface and distorting things below.

I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. This work with its cool colour palette and expressive mark-making is bold, expressive and is borne from how watching the children in my life play in the pool makes me feel. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.

This is a mid-size work that is unapologetically strong and bold. Cool and refreshing, it will happily sit in a comfortable sunny space. Could work equally well in a home or office environment.
