Evening On The Bay is a strong, but reflective abstract painting. Inspired by the cool of a Spring evening viewed from the jetty at Hervey Bay whilst holidaying there to enjoy some whale watching. The overall calm, yet strength of the colours and scene, along with the glimpses of the moonlight through the reflected colour in the sky inspired this work.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me, and this piece is no different.
This is a larger work that is definitely a statement piece. When hung in the right space it will bring a dynamic, and bold accent. Suitable for home or office.
