I Do Like To Be Beside the Seaside...
I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside is a small work of imagining. This work is inspired by the song, and is my imagination of time spent on a British Beach in a howling gale. An acrylic and mixed media work. Layers and elements come together to inform the perceived joy of sitting by the sea pretending it is warm. These little works are able to be either hung or self-standing, and will also make fabulous little gifts.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The random mark-making offset by the collage components create a beautiful balance. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful moment when placed in your space. It is simple and brimming with expectation. Suitable for home or office.
