King Tide

King Tide is an expressive work using texture and movement to replicate the turbulent waters of a King Tide. Using tools I found a way to move the paint on the canvas to create the full waves brimming with expectation as the tide is pushed to maximum.

I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The wildness of the silver and white balanced by the cool blue along with the mark-making are expectant and ominous. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.

Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful piece of beach and surf when hung in your space. It is simple but joyful, balanced and brimming with expectation. It holds many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
