Kings Beach, Happy Valley and Caloundra CBD is an artwork painted soon after moving to the area and enjoying how the coast and the urban environments were so intertwined. The gorgeous coastal colours wrapping around and interacting with the business area of the beachside township. It is a beautiful part of the world to live, and I wanted to be able to share this place - in my own abstract way - with others.
I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. This work uses the simplicity of primarily coastal colours and the strength of mark making which has been used to form the basis of the suburban elements. Painted in many layers, it is full of beautiful moments.
This is a larger work and is a strong statement piece which will sit beautifully in its space. It uses the strength of the gorgeous palette along with the intricacies of the patchwork elements to create a work that is subtle and interesting. Suitable for home or office.
