Love Notes is a symbolic, emotional painting celebrating the recognition of love for another. Love doesn’t always need to be wrapped up in pink bows and red roses - sometimes it needs to be masculine and functional.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The use of strong elements as opposed to ‘beautiful’ elements reflect my desire to create something that looks at the concept of love, and what it might need to be for you, through a different lens. The colours and mark-making are strong and respectful, whilst still being generous. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful statement when hung in the right space. It is poignant and strong, but also simple. It will draw you in and you will find many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
