Rain, Rain, Go Away … is an intuitive acrylic and mixed media work referencing the massive amount of rain that can fall even though we are in the Summer season. This work uses beautiful summer colours and warmth suggesting that summer hasn’t failed, it is still evident. The brightness and humidity generated from the fallen rain definitely supports this.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful statement when hung in the right space. It is dynamic and strong, linking back to the very predictable summer showers mid afternoon in Brisbane. It will draw you in and you will find many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
