Skating On Thin Ice is a layered, mixed media painting exploring the strength of ‘the understood’ versus the fragility of navigating the ‘somewhat unknown’. Using quiet soft marks and colours against the strength and depth of the bold marks and tones reflects the juxtaposition of perceived confidences and the trepidation of taking the first steps onto the ‘Thin Ice’.

I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. This work uses the simplicity of the colour palette along with a subtle collage elements to generate the texture and strength. The many layers bring the history that I love in a work.

This is a Mid-Size work and is a beautifully soft piece which will enhance your space. It uses strength of shape, limited palette choices and layers of gorgeous collage and shadows to be calming work. Suitable for home or office.
