The Phoenix Number

The Phoenix Number is a symbolic and bold painting which forms part of the series which is influenced by ‘looking within’. The number 289 which appears in this work was completely chosen at random during the painting process, however when investigated I found that it is known as ‘The Phoenix Number’. This number is revered as a symbol of prosperity and abundance.

I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. This work with its variety of greens and shock of warm red and yellow colour palette along with the expressive mark-making is created to be challenging and bold whilst also confident. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me, and this piece thrilled me when I found out that the number created had such a strong meaning. I hope that it provides you with the prosperity and abundance it should.

This is a smaller work that will work equally well in a small space that needs a pop or in combination with other works. Suitable for either a home or office environment.
