The Sand Bar

The Sand Bar is a coastal-inspired work, referencing the subtle shift of sands which create the lagoon you have to wade through just beyond the shore before you get to the sand bar. As a child the sand bar was an amazing place to be. Not so close to the beach that you felt ‘too young’, but close enough to feel safe - completely oblivious to the hazards that sand bars can bring with them.

I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. This work with its beautiful turquoise water and the bold red of the sand bar is striking and relaxing all at the same time.

This is a mid-size work that harks to memories of being at the beach as a child. Cool and refreshing, it will happily sit in a comfortable sunny space. Could work equally well in a home or office environment.
