Too Windy For A Picnic is an expressive work using basic line and shape to express the impact that wind would have on the setting out of a blanket and picnic in the outdoors. Expressive brush-strokes and bold colour choices create the movement of uncontrollable wind. This work was painted to be paired with ‘Road Trip’ .
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The strength of blues interrupted by the reds and oranges along with the mark-making are expectant, and playful. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a lovely pop of colour and memory when hung in your space. It is simple but joyful, balanced and brimming with excitement. It holds many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
