Watching The Water Rise. A work informed by a recent - but increasingly common ‘Rain Bomb’ event. The rain just continued to fall - days after days. Watching the water collect, creeping up the back stairs, unable to escape through the normal channels. The difficulties these events cause for many, and the impact that it makes on everyone’s lives and mental well-being.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful statement in it’s space. It is dynamic and strong, but also reflective and soulful. It will draw you in and you will find many moments within the work that will bring you joy. A beautiful little piece of original reflection. Suitable for home or office.
