Hiking The Bluff is a nature-inspired painting capturing the texture and energy of reaching for the summit. Looking up at what lies ahead and steeling yourself for what you will need to muster to achieve the success of conquering the task.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The hues of greens and yellows and the mark-making are cool and crisp, but still playful. The challenge is noticeably real, but achievable. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful, positive moment when hung in your space. It is simple but expectant, balanced and brimming with expectation. It holds many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
