Stormfront is a dramatic, layered painting capturing the tension and beauty of an approaching storm. This piece follows on from ‘Hiking The Bluff’. Based on experiences of expeditions I have undertaken when the challenge is further complicated by the impending weather. This work is one of three that were painted to compliment each other. I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The hues of greens and soft oranges along with the mark-making are expectant, but still playful. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful, positive moment when hung in your space. It is simple but joyful, balanced and brimming with expectation. It holds many moments within the work that will bring you joy. Suitable for home or office.
