Journey to Somewhere is an expressive work using bold painted marks and created collage on a neutral base. Balancing complexity with simplicity it is a strong piece with lots of playfulness and unrestrained exuberance - reminiscent of a fun weekend road trip with mates to wherever you might end up. ‘Somewhere’.
I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. This work uses the simplicity of the colour palette along with multiple collage elements to generate moments of surprise as new places and landscapes unfold. Using a fairly simple neutral colour palette, and many layers that bring history, the work - although minimal - still invokes excitement and anticipation.
This is a Mid-Size work and is a beautiful statement piece which will enhance your space. It uses strength of shape, limited palette choices and layers of ‘what has gone before’ to be strong, but also calming. Suitable for home or office.
