Marshmallows By The Fire uses collage to connect to the joy of friends and family sitting around a fire toasting marshmallows. An original mixed media abstract which connects back to the emotions of childhood experiences. Painted as one of two works. Layers and elements come together to create a beautifully simple work that embraces childhood memories. These little works are able to be either hung or self-standing, and will also make fabulous little gifts.
I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. The random mark-making offset by the collage components create a beautiful balance. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me to, and this piece is no different.
Although smaller in size, this work will create a beautiful moment when placed in your space. It is simple and brimming with expectation. Suitable for home or office.
