The Breaking of Drought

The Breaking Of Drought captures outback Australia - more often dry than wet - after rains creating inland seas, with water as far as the eye can see. It is a rare, but beautiful phenomenon. The cracks of dry earth filling with the water, both left by the rain and that draining from higher ground, bringing with it the hope for recovery of landscape.

I’ve used several techniques whilst creating this painting. I love to create works that are intuitive and expressive with many layers, textures and surprising elements. Works that are borne from how things make me feel - not necessarily the image I am seeing. All my works hark back to where my mind has taken me, and this piece is no different.

This is a larger work that is definitely a statement piece. When hung in the right space it will bring a dynamic, and bold accent. Suitable for home or office.
